Case History Pontedera

Confesercenti Toscana Nord, in collaboration with the Natural Shopping Centre of Pontedera, contacted Shinteck to create an iOS/Android cross-platform application for citizens and tourists to encourage sales by exhibitors and facilitate the use of services in the city.

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT

  • Development of a CMS with a web frontend dedicated to merchants and administrators for the direct uploading of content

  • Import of merchant data from Confesercenti master data

  • Automatic uploading of content from the merchant’s Facebook page

  • Automatic posting of news on Facebook page “inPontedera”

  • Send push notifications to devices when new content is uploaded

  • Contact form for sending reports with photos to the municipality

Technologies used

The app was first developed using a customization of the OpenSource Mosync framework, one of the first SDK able to integrate an HTML5 interface and a business logic in C/C++.

With the interruption of the Mosync project it was necessary to upgrade to more current technologies by rewriting the entire application with the use of the Xamarin framework, able to integrate native interfaces and a business logic in c#, with a decisive increase in compatibility and performance.
